Purifiers were librarians in Jorge Luis Borges' short story “The Library of Babel”. Their goal was to clean the library from "worthless books". They strongly believed that these books should be eliminated.
Other librarians from Borges' story hated the
Purifiers for destroying books.
My art depicts the process of eliminating books by one of the Purifiers. Words and sentences break into letters, some no longer make sense or are upside down, and some are backwards...
